The third edition of Downtown Design, the only trade fair in the region dedicated to premium interior brands offering designers, builders, architects and suppliers a platform from which they can connect and conduct business celebrated its most successful year yet.
Pre-registrations for the fair increased by 25%, and visitor numbers exceeded expectation, with current estimated figures above 10,000 spread across the four days, representing 30% year-on-year growth with 80% of visitors listed as trade-professionals. The positive feedback from industry, buyers and brands, has led to demand for more space in the 2016 edition that has already surpassed 2015 levels, promising a larger and even richer presentation for the fourth edition.
Success of 2015. The final selection saw 90 brands participate from 25 countries across a range of product categories, this included a 700 sqm Italian Pavillion presenting 15 artisanal brands representing the materials and crafts of Italy, fully approved by the Italian Trade Agency, the concept was to create a ‘home’ from which to communicate the richness of the Italian lifestyle. The third edition also hosted the Destinations initiative for the first time; with six design weeks from around the world; Mexico, Melbourne, Helsinki, Beijing, San Francisco and Istanbul each presenting three of their most exciting emerging brands.
